Welcome to the Traveling Tail Number
The Mission:
Let’s face it, we’re all aviation geeks that love to trade cards and have a little fun along the way. For this game we decided to take the trading card idea and slam it together with the Flat Stanley game and then spin it on its Tail Number.
On a recent trip to the Atlanta Delta Air Museum, I was lucky enough to meet some of the staff and walk their display 747 which was the second 747 in Delta’s fleet. While there I was able to obtain a 747 card (Card 42) directly from the staff that gives tours of the 747. During my tour I had a lofty idea to send the Queen of the Skies 747 card back into the skies for another journey around the globe. And that’s where the idea of the Traveling Tail Number was born.
As part of the journey of the 747, we figured why not trade a card at the same time. In this package you received, the previous pilot should have included a card(s) and any other items they would like to share or trade with you as the next pilot.
Flight plan:
Receive the 747 card and package
Take photo of 747 card (this could be at your home office, near an airport, with your favorite furry friend, at the airport, inside your favorite plane… Just be creative)
Log the flight on the provided Flight Log
Choose the next pilot
Take the card the previous pilot is trading with you and replace with a card you would like to send to the next pilot
Make sure the 747 card continues on its journey, package the 747, and any other cards you would like to share with the next pilot, and send the package on its next flight
Post a photo of the 747 card and flight log to the card album in the Delta Trading Cards Exchange
Celebrate a successful flight
Flight Rules:
DO NOT be the one to break the chain
The pilot with the fastest turnaround time will win ‘Speed Bird’ status
Longest distance flown wins ‘Ultra Long Haul’ status
Speed and timing is of the essence – do not let this card sit on a desk unattended
The person you pick for the cards next ‘flight’ should be someone you know and have traded cards with that is in one of the several Delta trading groups which we all belong to
Please do not send to someone who is already a passenger on the enclosed flight log
