Air Transat

Air Transat was founded in 1986 by prominent Quebecois businessman François Legault and a team of business partners. From its inception, Transat has targeted the leisure travel in Canada, operating Lockheed-Martin L-1011s primarily on seasonal routes to Europe. After the closure of Nationair, Transat inherited assets including a maintenance base and additional aircraft, allowing it to expand rapidly amidst a stagnant aviation market in Canada. Prior to its partnership with Porter Airlines, Transat was one of the only airlines in Canada to seamlessly connect the West Coast to leisure destinations in Europe, earning it high praise and even the World’s Best Leisure Airline by Skytrax!

Recently, the Air Line Pilot Association (ALPA) was able to negotiate a budget with Air Transat’s marketing team to create a collection of pilot trading cards. These cards are rumored to not only feature the current all-Airbus fleet, but also retro aircraft such as the L-1011, Boeing 727, and A310. These cards are rumored to be released in 2027 to line pilots, adding another Canadian airline to the trading card market!
