Aeroméxico

Aerovías de México, more commonly known as Aeroméxico, is the current flag carrier of Mexico operating since 1934. Beginning its humble operations as Aeronaves de México using a Stinson SR-5A, the airline’s first flight flew from Mexico City to Acapulco. During World War II, it grew a fleet of airliners thanks to a partnership with Pan American World Airways. After its nationalisation by the Mexican government in 1959, Aeronaves de México operated its first jet aircraft and merging with a rival airline Aerovias Guest. Aeroméxico further grew to its current size in 1993 after acquiring Mexicana, the country’s oldest and second-largest airline. Currently, Aeroméxico operates an all Boeing fleet of the B737 and B787 family across Asia, Europe, and America. In addition, Aeroméxico Connect operates a single fleet of the Embraer E190 aircraft on its regional routes.

The first records of company branded trading cards appeared in 2024, when Aeroméxico celebrated its 90th anniversary. These cards, given as a packet of 6, seem to have been distributed to employees or attendees for certain events, as there have not been many sources other than an aviation history account on Instagram.

In mid-2026, a user on our Facebook page posted a series of 4 cards that were handed out by an Aeroméxico pilot. The aircraft depicted include Boeings 737, 787, Embraer E190, and a retro throwback to the Stinson SR-5A. While one version only has the company brand and logo on the back, another includes a section for the particular aircraft’s fun facts. In both cases, these cards seem to have orginally been made by a line pilot but since been handed out by other line pilots as well.
