De Havilland Canada (DHC) was formed in 1928 as a Canadian subsidiary of Britain’s most innovative aviation manufacturer of its time, de Havilland Aircraft Company Limited. Specializing in pilot training for RCAF aircrew and building the infamous de Havilland Moth, DHC became a vital part of Canadian aviation particularly in World War II. In fact, post-war DHC saw a great expansion fuelled not only in aircraft built under license but also those engineered by its own innovation for Canada’s harsh and rugged environment. Aircraft in the DHC series bear notable design features such as large control surfaces and higher power-to-weight ratio that allows STOL (short takeoff and landing) capabilities while allowing a higher payload. Dash-7 and Dash-8 aircraft in particular are still used globally for airline transport usage in regional markets, while the DHC-2, DHC-3, and DHC-6 still remain popular with operators specializing in bush-flying.

In 2025, De Havilland Aircraft of Canada, a modern rendition of the DHC brand after multiple ownerships, quietly launched a series of trading cards featuring aircraft that have been a part of DHC’s history. Ranging from aircraft designed in-house and those built on acquired licenses, these collectibles can be found individually or in an envelope containing 5 random cards that may include duplicates. Seeking these cards from airline crew members will prove quite futile, as most of these cards can be found in aviation career fairs, distributed by DHC at their respective panel or booth.
