The Allied Pilots Association (commonly known as APA) is the union representing 16,000 professional pilots at American Airlines (AA). Headquartered first in New York then Fort Worth, APA is one of the leading pilot unions in the USA advocating for aviation safety, advanced pilot qualifications, and training standards.
As pilot trading cards rose in popularity, AA pilots relied on unofficial pilot-created cards for passengers and enthusiasts. On 10th April 2026, following the pilots’ demands and volunteer effort, APA announced the creation of 4 new collectible cards featuring each type of aircraft in the American fleet.
Currently, these cards are only issued to pilots volunteering in certain APA committees. The original version is based on the pilot-made unofficial AA cards bearing the similar metallic sheen on standard card stock, while a newer version sports bright colours on a thinner material. Both versions adepict each aircraft, fun facts, and premium cabin seats. QR codes found on the bottom right of the cards lead to the APA’s website.
